WELCOME to the new school year!
The teachers, administrative staff and congregation members at Christ the King, are so excited to welcome back our returning families and to meet our new ones. This year we’ve planned many new adventures, lots of learning experiences and loads of fun. There will be many opportunities for parents or other family members to volunteer during the day too. We love having you here and an extra pair of hands is always welcomed. In addition, an invitation is extended to you to join us for Chapel held every Wednesday at 9:30am. This is a special time of worship, song and sharing. We look forward to growing in Christ together and building strong relationships with the children families and each other. Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s care and education.
Resource /Information:
Parents, whether its child care, pre-school or the first day of kindergarten, many children, and yes, even you, may have some anxiety or fears. We’d like you to know that we truly understand how hard it is for you to leave your child, especially if they are sad. It is our goal to make sure your child begins to feel safe and secure in our care. We will do all that is necessary to create an environment for your child to bond, learn and make friends. In the mean time, feel free call anytime and check up on how their day is going. If you have any concerns or questions you can always speak with the teacher or administrative staff. We also have brochures available to inform you on a variety of developmental issues such as separation anxiety, discipline, sleep, biting and more. The resource boards are located on the central wall of our facility or by the school office. We can assist you in locating any resource information you may need, just ask! We are here to work together.
PARDON OUR MESS
Parents, we apologize in advance for any inconvenience our construction project may cause. You may notice things looking a bit hectic from time to time, but its all worth it as we focus on the finished product, a new roof and a new look! We appreciate your patience and understanding. Beside the inconvenience, there is no danger to the children or staff. Please look for signs indicating that our main entrance has been blocked or changed and….. Thank you for your understanding God Bless!
Fall Program Information
This fall we will be implementing the “Creative Curriculum” teaching strategies’. The Creative Curriculum children’s assessments will begin in September. It is our goal to follow up in November with parent/teacher conferences to review and discuss your child’s developmental skills. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Barbi or Ms. Beth for more details.
*Parents, make sure you hand in any outstanding requirements for enrollment. We need to have on file your child’s updated immunization forms and for those children entering kindergarten, we need a copy of their birth certificate as well.
*PLEASE. Write your child’s name on all their belongings, including clothes. This helps with lost items.

The Goals of Our Curriculum The most important goals of our toddler & preschool curriculum are for children to get along well with others and become enthusiastic learners. We want children to become independent, self-confident, curious learners who can work well with others. We're teaching them how to learn, not just in school, but all through their lives. We do this by creating purposeful and productive play experiences that help children grow in all areas.
Our curriculum identifies goals in four areas of development.
Social/emotional: to help children develop independence, self-confidence, and self-control; follow rules and routines; make friends; and learn what it means to be part of a group.
Physical: to increase children's large muscle skills—balancing, running, jumping, throwing and catching—and to use the small muscles in their hands to do tasks like buttoning, stringing beads, cutting, drawing, and writing.
Cognitive: to acquire thinking skills such as the abilities to solve problems, to ask questions, and to think logically—sorting, classifying, comparing, counting, and making patterns—and to use materials and their imagination to show what they have learned.
Language: to use words to communicate with others, listen to and participate in conversations with others, understand the purpose of print, recognize letters and words, and begin writing for a purpose.
Through the activities we plan and the way we organize the classroom, select toys and materials, plan the daily schedule, and talk with children, we seek to accomplish the goals of our curriculum and give your child a successful start in school.
