Meet Our Staff
The Administrator
Administrator
Mrs. Barbi Harrison
Mrs. Barbi Harrison has been a member of our CTK family since 2002. Her husband Earl of 25 years and their 2 daughters, Christina & Chelsea, moved to beautiful North Idaho from Miami Florida in 2001. She has been working in the Early Care & Education field in Idaho for 10 years. She holds 2 Child Development Associates, 1 for children Birth to Three and 1 for Pre-school, an Associate in Science Degree and is in the process of completing her Bachleors Degree in Early Childhood Education. As President North Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children, she is also active with the Idaho AEYC and works as a mentor, trainer, assessor and consultant for IdahoSTARS. This is her third term with the City of Coeur d’Alene Childcare Commission and she is passionate about childcare regulations, health & safety regulations (co-writer of the City of CDA Fire Safety & Inspection Form) and community resources. In addition she also specializes as an Instructor/Trainer in First Aid & CPR with the American Heart Association.
Other areas of training include:
Refining the Skills with Idaho AEYC and University of Idaho; Assessor training with Idaho AEYC ; Childcare Health Consultant, University of Idaho;
CDA National Accreditation Advisor;
And is also fluent in Spanish!
Mrs. Harrison is truly committed to the children, the families, the staff and the growth and success of our program. Her professional, as well as her nurturing & loving personality, is a blessing to our school and our community.
She is affectionately known as "my Barbi" by all the children.

 


The Supervisor
About the Supervisor:
Mrs. Bethany Atkinson serves as CTK, CDC's Supervisor. She has over 12 years experience working with children, holds a Child Development Associates for children Birth to Three and has been a part of our CTK family since 2004. Ms. Beth and her husband Chris have two daughters, Chalee and Becca, and is a native to North Idaho.
She is an active member in NIAEYC and is respected for her commitment and dedication to the success of our program, the safety of the children and the happiness of the staff.

Our Kindergarten Teacher
Mrs Holly McNee

Mrs. Holly McNee is our Kindergarten teacher. She grew up in North Idaho, graduated from Post Falls High School
and then attended the University of Idaho. She received her both her Bachelor's And Master's Degree in Elementary Education. It was in college that she met her husband Scott. They have three children, Aaron, Caroline and Derek.

Mrs. McNee has taught for 14 years and has 10 years of kindergarten experience. She has worked for the Coeur d'Alene School District and also spent two years previously as  Christ the King's kindergarten teacher. She is excited to be a part of the CTK   CDCfamily. Mrs. McNee was confirmed at Christ the King and she along with her family is active in the congregation.

Welcome Mrs. Jennifer Gibbon,

New to our school, Mrs. Jennifer Gibbon is originally from California but moved to CDA in 1997. She earned her Bachelor's in Elementary Education from U of I last year and student taught in first and second grade in the Coeur d'Alene School District. She is a certified teacher in Kindergarten through sixth grade.  Ms. Jen is a wonderful complement as Mrs. McNee's Kindergarten assistant and brings her expertise in learning to the classroom. She and her husband Ethan of three years enjoy camping and reading!

Mrs. Robyn Oswald

Mrs. Robyn Oswald has been a part of our CTK family since 2005. Our Lambs, Pre-K co-teacher holds a Child Development Associates for children birth through 3 and is an active participant in IdahoSTARS. She has 13 years experience in Early Childhood Education and is great with the children.  She enjoys spending time and going for walks with her husband James and their   2 children Calvin and Paige. Born in Oregon and raised in Washington, she enjoys gardening, cooking and exercising in the great outdoors.


Mrs. Kristine Brisson joined CTK in February of 2008. She and her husband Jerry reside in Post Falls along with their 3 children, Nick 9, Amber 8 and Conner 4. Her past experience is in health care and as a foster parent. Since joining our CTK family in 2008, she has been participating in IdahoSTARS and is excited about learning more about early care and education. Our Lambs Pre-k co-teacher just received her Child Development Associates Credentials! Raised in Hayden Idaho, she enjoys the outdoors & spending time with her family.


Mrs. Kristine Brisson
Mrs. Jenny Sims

Mrs. Jenny Sims has been a part of our CTK family since 2006. She is married and has a son Kadin, who has attended our center since infancy and is now in our kindergarten class! Our Ducks Pre-K co-teacher has been very busy and active in the IdahoSTARS professional registry and has received her Child Development Associates Credentials. Raised right here in Coeur d'Alene, she and her family enjoy camping, scrap-booking and crafts. Ms Jenny has been a great addition to our CTK family.

 


Mrs. Courtney Myers may be staff member at CTK CDC since 2008, but as a CTK CDC parent she has been here since 2004! Her son Devin started here when he was 9 weeks old. Now he's in entering the 2nd grade! Our Ducks, Pre-K co-teacher, is also an active member in IdahoSTARS. Ms. Courtney is committed to her profession and learning as she recently completed her Child Development Associates Credentials. She was raised in Bonners Ferry and moved to CDA in 2000 were she graduated from Lake City H.S. Married to her high school beau, Jeff, She enjoys camping, softball, snowmobiling, 4-wheel riding and most of all playing with Devin!


Our Pre-School Teachers
Ms. Ashley Sproles

Ms Ashley Sproles is one of our newest members at CTK, CDC. Raised all over the west coast, (her Dad was a Youth Pastor), she finally landed in Coeur d'Alene and calls it home. Her background is in medical training and she also has some childcare experience working in the Kellogg area. Her goal is to complete her Child Development Associates but in the mean time, as the Bumblebees co-teacher, she is committed to learning all she can about pre-schoolers. Just joining the IdahoSTARS professional development registry, she will have lots of support and opportunity for trainings.  She enjoys hiking and gold prospecting in her spare time.


Ms. Amanda Albright

Ms. Amanda Albright is our Bumblebees co-teacher A CTK CDC staff member since 2009. She has had 4 years experience as a childcare provider and is currently enrolled at NIC working towards completing her A.S. An active member of IdahoSTARS, she is committed to her profession and recently received her Child Development Associates Credential Born in Lewiston ID and raised right here in CDA, she, her husband Evan, and her daughters, Maliya & Marlee (who attend our center), love the great outdoors. An artistic soul, she loves painting & playing the piano. In her spare time she enjoys camping, traveling and most importantly, spending time with her family!

 


Ms. Alexis Robertson

Ms. Alexis Robertson has moved from state to state her entire life. She was born in San Diego CA, moved to the small town of Rolla, MO and finished out high school in Hillsboro, OR. In high school she became very interested in mission work and at 16, went on her first mission trip to Lima Peru. After graduating high school, she did various mission works from the poverty of Guatemala City to the street of Atlanta GA. From her experiences she became fluent in Spanish and gained confidence in working with children in various environment. Alexis is now working towards a double BS in Elementary Ed and Child Development at U of I. She is excited to be at Christ the King and looks forward to learning much more from your children!


Our Two Year Old Teachers
Mrs. Randee Mathers

Mrs. Randee Mathers has been a member of our CTK CDC family since 2005. Our Ladybug co-teacher is an active member of the IdahoSTARS professional development registry. She earned her Child Development Associates Credential and is constantly working on furthering her education and knowledge in early childhood care. Randee comes from a family of caregivers and has many years of experience. Her love for children is obvious and it starts with her own 3! They are all teenagers now. Born and raised in beautiful North Idaho, Randee and her husband, Will, enjoys vintage shopping and spending time with her family.


Ms Heidy Nelmar joined our CTK family in December of 08. Our Ladybugs co-teacher is also a mother of six and grandmother of 3 boys, it is obvious she loves children! Working in the childcare profession for the past 24 years, 16 of which were with Project High Schools, her experience and compassion is a great blessing to our program.

Ms Heidy also enjoys camping, hiking and most of all spending time with her family.

Our Toddler Teachers

Mrs. Sharon Farmer has been a part of our CTK family since 2005. Although she had no previous professional experience in early childcare she has truly been a wonderful and gifted caregiver. The children all love "their Sharon".  Born and raised in Nebraska, she married her husband Dave in 1970. They have two wonderful grown children, Sean and Dawn who are both married. Her pride and joy is her grandson Jeremiah. A cat lover and "domestic goddess, her true passion is serving her Lord.

Ms. Stefanie Bravo

Ms. Stefanie Bravo is new to our CTK family as well as Coeur d'Alene. She and her 3 wonderful boys, ages 7, 9 & 11, moved here from Texas to be closer to the family. She was born in Honolulu Hawaii and raised mostly in California. As an Army child and former Army wife she had the opportunity to live in many places too including Germany! She has worked with children for 11 years at centers in California and Germany and she just loves infants and toddlers. She has some formal Early Childhood Education and plans to pursue her degree next year. In her spare time she studies as well as teaches Karate with her Father and sisters who owns "Hand to Hand Combat Training Center" in Post Falls.


Ms. Samantha Sylwester is our "youngest" member of the CTK, CDC staff. Although new to the field, she is currently enrolled at U of I studding Early Childhood Care and Education. Her future aspiration is to become a kindergarten teacher. She just graduated from Coeur d'Alene H.S. and is a native of Coeur d'Alene. She and her family are long time and active members of Christ the King Lutheran Church. In addition to her love for children, Ms. Samantha enjoys camping and "hanging out" with friends and family (when she's not too busy doing homework!)


Ms. Samantha Sylwester
Our Infant Teachers

Ms. Lynsey DeSmet joined our CTK family in June of 09. She came to us from another center and has a few years of experience in infant and toddler care. In addition she holds and associates degree from NIC.

Born and raised right here in Coeur d'Alene, she enjoys reading, music, walking her pooch and spending time with her family. Having origins in Mexico, her favorite thing is visiting her family there! We feel very blessed to have Ms. Lynsey as a co-teacher in our Caterpillar & Butter fly classes.


Ms. Lynsey DeSmet
Ms.Shelly Childers

Ms. Shelly Childers started in May of 2011 in our infant room. No stranger to babies, she has 4 wonderful boys and is the oldest of 6, she loves caring for the little ones. Growing up in a military family, her father is a retired Marine Coronel; she was born in Quantico VA and raised all over the world. She graduated from high school while living in Okinawa Japan and also lived in Italy. She was fortunate to have traveled to Germany, Switzerland & Greece. Her current focus is as a childcare provider and furthering her education in Early Care and Education.

In her spare time she enjoys cooking, going to the beach and hanging out with family J
